St Anthony's Way,
Welcome to Northdown Surgery:
We hope to use our surgery website as a way
of presenting all our patients with an up to date resource for
all information relating to our practice. We will keep it
current with any news, developments & details that are relevant
to the practice and our patients.
As well as a source of information about our Practice, the staff
and the services we provide, we hope you use the website as a
useful resource with links to other reliable websites for health
related information. If there is topical health information we
will also add this to the website.
Have a look around our website and please do send us some
feedback. We can use your thoughts to improve our online
services and further develop the website to make it a more
useful, practical application for our patients.
|FLU CLINIC - Saturday 4th
October - Calling all patients who are 65 and over
or in an "At Risk" group" (e.g. asthma, diabetes
We will be holding our annual flu clinic on Saturday
4th October 2014. This will be a drop-in clinic and
will run from 0800am until 1.00pm in the usual way.
If you are unable to attend on Saturday 4th October,
please ring the Surgery any afternoon from Monday,
6th October to book an appointment.
The drop-in flu clinic is not suitable for
children under 5. Please do not bring them along
on this date.
Unfortunately, due to national demand and last weekend's
media attention regarding this scheme, new registration
for patient access is not working at the moment - the
software company are urgently working on this problem as
it has affected ALL surgeries. Please note if you have
registered previously, you will still be able to order
your online medication, although the system may be a
little slower than usual. Please accept our apologies
for this inconvenience. We will keep you updated when we
have further news.

We offer a range of pre-booked appointments on a Saturday
morning - some with the Nurse, some with the GP. Unfortunately
we are unable to book certain types of appointments with the
Nursing team as there are no laboratory collection services
available on a Saturday (i.e. blood tests, urine tests etc).
Please ask the Reception Team about Saturday clinics.
Care Data Extraction
A recent Health and Social Care Act allows the NHS to extract,
in certain circumstances, Personal Confidential Data (PCD) from
GP practices throughout England without seeking prior patient
consent. The anonymised data will be used to plan, develop and
improve patient care and services. The Health and Social Care
Information Centre (HSCIC) will use the GP Extraction Service (GPES)
to obtain anonymous information from all GP practices in England
for specific and approved purposes. Patients can choose not to
allow their personal anonymised data to be used for this
purpose. For further information, please contact the HSCIC on
